If you are interested in pioneer, WWI, inter-war and up to WW2 aircraft the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden hosts numerous examples and gives you excellent opportunities to get close to the aircraft to take stunning photographs - view gallery.
This unique collection also has some Edwardian aircraft including the Bleriot type XI which is identical to the one which first crossed the English channel in 1909 and the Bristol Boxkite which was built for "Those magnificent men in their flying machines".
If your preference lies in WWII aircraft (Warbirds) then Duxford is the place for you. It holds several airshow each year with the ever popular 'Flying Legends' held annually, generally in July, displaying Spitfires, Hurricanes and much much more.
Duxford is also home to the Imperial War Museum (IWM), The Fighter Collection (TFC), The Old Flying Machine Company (OFMC), The Aircraft Restoration Company (ARC), Historic Aircraft Collection (HAC), B-17 Preservation Society etc.
